Dear Collaborators and Well-Wishers of the Claverian Family,

I write these few words with deep gratitude in my heart, echoing the sentiments of St. Paul, who says, “I give thanks to my God at every remembrance of you, always praying with joy in my every prayer for all of you, because of your partnership for the gospel from the first day until now. I am confident of this that the one who began a good work in you will continue to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus” (Phil 1:3-6).

Thank you for all your support, both material and spiritual, in assisting us to carry forward the mission entrusted to us by Jesus through the instrumentality of our Mother Foundress, Blessed Mary Theresa Ledóchowska. On behalf of the whole Congregation, I would like to acknowledge with gratitude your unstinting contribution and share with you my little experience.

Over the past few months, I had an opportunity to visit some of our mission stations in Africa, Asia and South America. While I was there, I journeyed from one village to another, meeting people and was deeply touched by while listening to their stories and seeing their faith in the Lord. The tiny Churches in these villages, without any pomp and luxury, are places where people flock to draw nourishment for their spiritual life. These are also places where people gather for their community meetings, recreation, and to discuss other concerns pertaining to their lives. In short, I saw that the whole life of the village was centred around the parish Church where the Lord dwells and is worshipped. I realised that the little help we render to the dioceses holding to which these villages belong, becomes enormous support to the work of evangelisation among less privileged who do not know Christ and His Gospel. I could also meet the Local Ordinaries, Priests and Religious Sisters who are reaching out to these villagers with the compassionate love of our Lord Jesus Christ. All of them expressed deep gratitude for our accompaniment and support in helping them to carry out the works of mercy and evangelisation.

Through your generous contributions and support, the missionary initiatives undertaken in these villages create an opportunity for the people to know Jesus and his message of love.  St. Augustine says, "Many grains form one bread; however, these grains are separate before they are crushed, moistened and baked.” The help that you render is like that individual grain, which by God’s grace and providence, is put together to form bread to nourish those who are spiritually and physically hungry. This is the work of God and service to Jesus Himself as He says, “In truth, I tell you, in so far as you did this to one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did it to me.”

Our Mother Foundress always desired that the mission entrusted by Jesus Christ to the Church should be carried forward by uniting the efforts of clergy, religious and laity.  She greatly relied on the support of the lay faithful and dedicated much time to encouraging and motivating them to missionary cooperation in order to procure for missionaries the spiritual and material means necessary for the evangelisation of peoples.

Jesus says, “Your almsgiving must be secret, and your Father who sees all that is done in secret will reward you” (Mt. 6:4). We are very much aware that all the contribution you make is the fruit of your self-sacrifice and your altruistic love towards the needy. May God, who sees all your good works in secret may, bless you and your dear ones a hundredfold and accompany you on your life’s journey with his ever-abiding presence. I would also like to convey to you the greetings and the grateful acknowledgements expressed by all the beneficiaries through their letters and messages. Once again, I thank you very much for accompanying us through your material and spiritual support in our work of assisting the missionaries to carry on the work of evangelisation.
